m-ICC12 cells are intestinal epithelial cells providing physical and biochemical barrier between commensal and
pathogenic microorganisms[13], they can sense and respond to microbial stimuli to reinforce their barrier function

immunity. Thus, IECs maintain a fundamental immune regulatory function that influences the development and
homeostasis of mucosal immune cells.
