The 4T1-Red-FLuc-GFP cell line is a luminescent and fluorescent cell line derived from 4T1 mouse breast adenocarcinoma. The cells have been stably transduced with the GFP-fused red-shifted firefly luciferase gene (Red-FLuc) (Green fluorescent protein), used to emit brighter red-shifted bioluminescence or green fluorescent signals. This cell line has very bright bioluminescence, emitting at least 15,000 photons/cell/sec in vitro. The exact number will depend on imaging and culture conditions. We recommend using this line in Nude and SCID mouse models. Balb/c mice may develop an immune response. By emitting enhanced light of longer wavelengths that are significantly brighter than other firefly luciferases, our bioluminescent tumor cell line allows you to visualize and monitor the growth of deep tissue tumors in vivo. GFP fusion also allows in vivo or ex vivo fluorescence imaging. After the cells are injected into a suitable mouse model, the optimized Red-FLuc luciferase can achieve more sensitive in vivo optical detection with less tissue attenuation, so you can detect tumor development earlier and subcutaneously monitor tumor growth and metastasis in the orthotopic model.
